The ip.access 3G Access Controller is a high availability gateway based on ATCA technology with a fully redundant software and hardware architecture for controlling large numbers of Access Points and aggregating their traffic towards the core network. The AC is hosted on the same hardware platform used in ip.access’ award winning Oyster 3G™ femtocell solution.
Each 3G AC supports over 1000 nano3G E8 picocell APs, with link and card redundancy for “five nines” availability. SAF compliant software checkpointing provides for automatic failover.
