The nano3G Access Points present a 3GPP W-CDMA standard Uu air interface, so that any existing 3G handset can be used with no loss of features. The nano3G E8 picocell AP (the first in a family of APs for different applications) supports 3G and HSPA services for up to 8 simultaneous users over a typical range of 200 metres.
The nano3G APs incorporate enterprise features, such as Power over Ethernet for easier deployment, open access with “real” cell IDs for hand-in, and an in-built NAT router to simplify installation alongside existing nanoGSM® 2G picocells.
The deployment of nano3G APs is straightforward. Initial cell planning can be done manually, or automated via integration with the operator’s existing cell planning tools. Physical installation may be carried out either by the operator or directly by the end customer, after which activation on the live network can be fully automated.
