The management system’s key functions may be hosted separately or together according to network scale. They include:
Provisioning service – creates live configurations for the femtocells and interfaces to end-user, point-of-sale and operator functions for access control and certificate management
Performance Management service – collects real-time and non-real-time performance data direct from femtocells in the field
Download service – manages the automatic download of femtocell software upgrades
Redirector service – accepts provisioning requests from new Oyster 3G Access Points, and redirects them to their intended Access Controller
NTP server – provides an accurate NTP reference for local clock synchronisation
OMC-R service – serves configurations to Oyster 3G Access Controllers for relaying to Access Points on initialisation
