nanoConverge™ is a complete 2G and 3G (and in future 4G) small cell Radio Access Network solution running on a converged platform. It integrates ip.access’ nanoGSM and nano3G solutions into a converged RAN, providing mobile coverage and additional network capacity for homes, offices, shops and public indoor locations.
The nanoConverge solution is designed to support a variety of hardware platforms:
The nanoConverge 200 solution provides an easy migration path allowing nanoGSM customers to introduce 3G capabilities to their existing 2G nanoGSM deployments.
It runs the nano3G Access Controller (AC) on a blade within the nanoGateway 200 platform (the same platform used for the Basestation Controller in an existing nanoGSM deployment).
The 3G blade kit combines an IPsec Gateway, 3G Access Controller and (optionally) the 3G Network Orchestration System (NOS). It can be supplied as a standalone 3G system on a single Micro-PCI blade in the 4U chassis (with room for expansion), or as a kit to upgrade an existing nanoGSM BSC.
The 3G AC acts as an aggregator for traffic from the 3G Access Points (APs), marshalling and concentrating the data from the APs into a set of links to the Core Network.
The AC connects to the core network using standard IuCS and IuPS IP interfaces over Ethernet. The APs connect to the AC using the Iuh standard interface over IP backhaul. The 3G blade kit includes a small-scale IPsec Gateway to secure the AP links.
The Network Orchestration System is our complete 3G provisioning and management solution with all the features needed to successfully deploy and operate a nano3G system.
