This role will be involved with all System Test activities within ip.access, focusing on executing existing Test Procedures, writing test plans for new features, CN/Handset IOT testing, driving Load, Stress and Soak Rig environments and ensuring a quality product delivery to our customers.
 
The position is part of an established team responsible for feature and system testing of a range of 2G and GSM products for IP based in-house (femto-cell) and in-building (pico-cell) applications, including Node Bs, RNCs, Base Stations, Base Station Controllers, Network Management Systems for 2G (Rel99/Rel5/Rel6), GSM/GPRS and EDGE systems.

We are a global company with established products in over 50 networks. We have plans for significant growth and to support this we need more talented, experienced and ambitious people to help us maintain our position as the market leading provider of in-building cells.
 
How can you help?
Well, our Access Point department that creates our award winning 3G Femtocell and 3G Picocell need someone to join their team of Platform engineers, who are responsible for the overall design and development of the Platform Software that both our 3G FemtoCell and 3G PicoCell products rely on. Our Platform Engineers are a very dedicated and clever group of people, and they need to be, as Platform Software covers a wide number of elements. It encompasses the Board Support Package, Embedded Linux OS, Hardware drivers (including the radio), Physical Layer Software, a variety of test and support tools and the Manufacturing Test System.
 
And what are we looking for?
Well, you don't need to be a genius, but as you can see from the technical requirements above, we need you to be pretty smart. A 2:1 or above in an Electronics Engineering degree (or similar) would be useful, plus commercial experience of 3G communications systems where you will have developed skills in hands on embedded programming of real-time systems. Having already ticked off those requirements would hopefully mean that you have also developed in C/C++, Python and TCL.
 
Of course, it's not just the technical knowledge and skills that we need, we also need people to be able to communicate their ideas to their colleagues, have a good eye for quality so we build the right solution first time and to be able to manage their time effectively so we can keep moving forward on new ideas.
