Vodafone staff 'well prepped' for femtocell launch
2nd July 2009 22:01:00
Vodafone had done plenty of preparation for the rollout of Europe's first commercial femtocell solution yesterday (July 1st), it has been claimed.
David Chambers wrote on ThinkFemtocell that he had conducted his own mystery shopper trial this weekend in order to test the preparedness for the femtocell launch at Vodafone branches.
He noted that when he asked about the product using its specific Vodafone Access Gateway name, he was given all the appropriate details and technical information.
Staff even explained that there were three ways that he could get hold of the new product, with Mr Chambers commending the accuracy of Vodafone's production manager, who had claimed staff had been fully briefed about the launch.
Mr Chamber's experiment follows comments by Klaus-Jurgen Krath, T-Mobile's senior vice-president of radio networks, to Unstrung at the Femtocells World Summit last week.
He told the blog that the mobile operator was also keen to execute its rollout of femtocells correctly.
