Rising Femto Forum membership highlights femtocell sector growth

With more organisations affiliating themselves with the Femto Forum, one firm has noted the continued growth that is taking place within the femtocell sector.
Informa Telecoms & Media has pointed out that 82 vendors are now members of the forum, while 55 mobile network operators have also joined its ranks.
"The expansion of the femtocell industry is reflected in the growing membership of the Femto Forum, the femtocell industry association," the organisation said.
Informa has also focused on the Sure Signal device which was recently launched in the UK by Vodafone.
By rebranding its femtocell offering, Informa believes that the operator made the purpose of the device clearer to consumers.
Earlier this week, the Femto Forum offered visitors to the Mobile World Congress 2010 the chance to learn more about femtocell technology at its FemtoZone in the exhibition area.
A variety of public presentations were staged in the zone during the event.
