The large level of demand that exists for femtocell technology among mobile network operators cannot be denied, it has been emphasised.
Telecoms.com has reported Informa Telecoms and Media's Dimitris Mavrakis as saying that the popularity of the devices is on the rise.
Mr Mavrakis, a senior analyst with Informa, believes that areas such as Europe, Asia and North America are notably seeing greater product availability.
Speaking to Telecoms.com, he commented: "Femtocells allow operators to deliver enhanced coverage at home, leading to an improved user experience that would not be economically viable with traditional network upgrades."
Writing in the same piece, James Middleton has noted some of the recent femtocells that have been launched by global mobile operators, including the Sure Signal technology being offered by Vodafone in the UK.
Speaking in an EE Times story, ABI Research's mobile networks practice director Aditya Kaul recently suggested that femtocells could give mobile users the chance to take advantage of innovative applications in the future.
