AT&T likely to change MicroCell price ahead of US launch

AT&T is likely to amend the cost of its MicroCell before it makes the device available on a nationwide scale.

Writing in an article for DSLReports.com, Karl Bode has noted that the prices that have been advertised in areas trialling the product may well be subject to change.

Mr Bode writes: "AT&T's testing different pricing models in test markets, according to AT&T executives, who say the product and pricing still aren't fully cooked."

The firm has yet to finish testing certain aspects of its femtocell technology, the writer also claims in his DSLReports.com piece.

Both 3G services and mobile phone reception are enhanced through the use of AT&T's femtocell device, which is available to customers that make use of one of its 3G handsets.

The security attributes of the device have also been emphasised by the company, with only authorised people able to make use of it.ADNFCR-2406-ID-19640924-ADNFCR
